With preferential capital from the VBSP, people in Ham Yen district have promoted the introduction of new plants and breeds with high economic value into production. Many new plants and breeds have appeared and developed in the locality for the first time, such as afforestation, growing four-season lemons, oranges, etc. Along with that, the potentials and strengths of the locality have been promoted, helping people in the district improve their lives. The implementation of preferential credit capital from the VBSP in the district has contributed to helping the district reduce the poverty rate by 2-3% each year. In the period of 2019-2023, the poverty rate of the district decreased from 4,753 households to 3,362 households, a decrease of 4.75%.
Deputy Director of the Social Policy Bank of Ham Yen District, Pham Thi Ngoc Quynh, said that the total outstanding debt in the district currently reaches over VND759 billion, with 12,907 borrowers. Resolution No. 11/NQ-CP of the Government has great significance, with humanity, helping many poor households, near-poor households and other policy beneficiaries access credit capital to develop their livelihoods. Continue to improve the operational capacity of the district's Social Policy Bank to implement policy credit programs and projects in the locality; mobilize interest-free or low-interest capital sources from organizations and individuals to transfer to the Social Policy Bank to supplement loan capital in the area; do a good job of management and coordination with sectors and socio-political organizations entrusted to implement lending policy credit programs to ensure efficiency, safety, publicity and transparency. In particular, pay attention to training and transferring science and technology in planting and raising crops for households eligible for loans, especially households that have borrowed capital from the district's Social Policy Bank to ensure the effectiveness of loans, limit risks in production and business, and at the same time reduce credit risks.
