Remember at the end of 2023, Ham Cuong commune was approved by the Provincial People's Committee to meet the standards of an advanced new rural commune. Promoting the achievements, the locality "took advantage of the victory" to register to reach the finish line of a model new rural commune. At this time, the commune chose Phu Sung village to build a smart village model. "Phu Sung village has implemented the national target program on new rural construction with many outstanding achievements, so after reaching the finish line of an advanced new rural commune, the People's Committee of the commune chose Phu Sung as a smart village model. There are 4 criteria to evaluate a smart village: infrastructure, production and business, services and resources", said Mr. Dong Dac Cu - Head of Phu Sung village, Ham Cuong commune.

According to the Head of Phu Sung village, by the end of 2024, all of the above criteria will have been completed and exceeded the set plan. That is, Phu Sung village has fiber optic Internet infrastructure and 3G, 4G mobile information; free wifi in public places; more than 1 model of information technology application and digital transformation. Regarding the service criteria, schools in Phu Sung village apply information technology in teaching and have full equipment for online teaching; more than 50% of people participate and use remote medical examination and treatment applications; over 80% of households pay for electricity or water without using cash or more than 50% of applications are submitted online....

Not only Phu Sung village, but up to now, 5/5 villages of Ham Cuong commune have installed fiber optic Internet system and 3G/4G coverage; cultural houses of villages have been equipped with free wifi network system; 12 camera points have been installed on 9 roads, with a total length of about 6 km, helping to support the People's Committee and commune police in ensuring security, order and traffic in the area; there are agricultural cooperatives using digital platforms in management and operation, retrieving product information; 100% of households pay electricity bills through intermediary payment organizations and online payments...

Notably, Ham Cuong commune has been truly successful in choosing agricultural production as a prominent field of the locality. The commune's dragon fruit growing area has been granted a growing area code. For example, Phu Cuong agricultural cooperative has a raw material area of ​​more than 70 hectares of VietGAP dragon fruit that has been granted an export growing area code, and has also linked up with a company in Ham Thuan Nam district to supply clean agricultural products to foreign partners. In addition, the cooperative also has two high-tech melon greenhouses with an area of ​​3,000 m2, linking up to build two melon consumption chains in Dong Nai province and Ho Chi Minh City with an output of more than 3 tons/month. On the other hand, in the locality, there are two products "White-fleshed dragon fruit" and "Doi Cat chicken" that have been recognized as 3-star OCOP. These potential products and advantages of the locality are known to many customer partners thanks to increased promotion of product sales on e-commerce platforms.
