Vietnam Navy is a support for Ninh Thuan fishermen to go offshore and stick to the sea

On the morning of August 18, in Ninh Thuan province, the Naval Region 4 Command coordinated with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ninh Thuan province and local authorities to organize the Vietnam Navy Program as a support for fishermen to go offshore and stick to the sea.

Speaking at the program, Colonel Nguyen Xuan Dung, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of Naval Region 4, emphasized: Implementing the Program of the Vietnamese Navy as a fulcrum for fishermen to go offshore and stick to the sea over the past 4 years, Naval Region 4 has closely coordinated with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, agencies, departments, branches, and localities of Ninh Thuan province to implement the Program 3 times. The goals and contents of the Program have been implemented synchronously, increasingly practically, and highly effectively.

Along with that, Region 4 has coordinated with the Propaganda Department of Ninh Thuan Provincial Party Committee to effectively implement the plan to propagate the sea and islands and to attract human resources to build a modern Navy. Thereby, it has directly contributed to raising people's awareness of the role and position of Vietnam's seas and islands; mastering the main contents of the Vietnam Sea Law and regulations when exploiting seafood in the seas; building a position of people's hearts at sea, together with the Navy force to successfully complete the task of protecting the sovereignty of the seas and islands of the Fatherland.

6Military Medical Region 4 visits and examines the health of people in Thanh Hai commune

The forces of Naval Region 4 and the military and people of Truong Sa island district (Khanh Hoa province) are always ready to help and support fishermen when requested; ready to rescue boats and provide emergency aid to fishermen who are in distress at sea. Over the past 4 years, the military and people of Truong Sa island district have rescued, provided emergency aid to, and supported more than 400 boats; treated and provided medicine to more than 600 fishermen; and rescued more than 80 fishermen when their boats caught fire or sank. Serious cases were transported to the mainland by ship or plane for timely emergency treatment.

Implementing this program, Naval Region 4 and accompanying units organized health check-ups, provided free medicine, gifts and medical backpacks for nearly 100 fishermen; presented 10 gifts to families of fishermen in difficult circumstances and 7 bicycles to children of fishermen who overcame difficulties and studied well in Thanh Hai commune, Ninh Hai district. The working group of Naval Region 4 also presented 300 fireproof vests, 50 round buoys, 500 national flags and distributed 300 sets of documents on the content "Some things fishermen need to know" to local people. The total value of the gifts was more than 200 million VND.

Skillful mass mobilization on Truong Sa fishing grounds

In recent times, the Naval Region 4 Command (Cam Ranh City, Khanh Hoa) has built and implemented well the emulation movement "Skilled Civil Affairs", building "Good Civil Affairs Units" in the provinces of Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan, leaving many good impressions on the people and fishermen operating in the Truong Sa fishing grounds.

On the afternoon of January 22, in Cam Ranh, Khanh Hoa, Regiment 451, Naval Region 4 Command held a ceremony to launch a peak emulation campaign with the theme "Celebrating the Party, celebrating Spring, launching the army to victory" to celebrate the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam and welcome the New Year of the Dragon 2024.
