To contribute to removing difficulties and limiting the impacts of the US Government's tariff policy on the production and business activities of enterprises, the Customs Department requires the Heads of the regional Customs Branches to carry out related contents such as organizing meetings, exchanging, and learning about the difficulties and problems of enterprises with goods exported and imported to the US to find solutions, and at the same time grasp the recommendations of enterprises to the Customs agency and the ministries managing the industry, fields, and related agencies.
In addition, the business community is informed that the Customs Department is actively coordinating with the ministries managing the industry, sectors, and relevant agencies to propose to the Government solutions to remove difficulties; create trade balance, and facilitate the import of goods originating from the US into Vietnam.
Heads of regional Customs Branches assign civil servants at seaport, airport, and industrial park Customs offices to be on duty 24 hours a day, especially during the 3-day holiday (April 5-7, 2025), to facilitate immediate customs clearance for imported raw materials, supplies, machinery and equipment serving processing, manufacturing activities, and export products.
The Customs Department requests units to summarize the working results with proposals and recommendations, and send them to the Customs Department (Customs Management and Supervision Board) before April 10, 2025.
Previously, the Government issued Decree 73/2025/ND-CP dated March 31, 2025 amending and supplementing preferential import tax rates of a number of items in the Preferential Import Tariff according to the List of taxable items issued together with Decree No. 26/2023/ND-CP dated May 31, 2023 of the Government on Export Tariff, Preferential Import Tariff, List of goods and absolute tax rates, mixed tax, import tax outside tariff quotas.
