On the evening of May 13, at the Hai Phong City Convention Center, the City Women's Union organized the 3rd Ao Dai Festival in 2024 with the theme "Heritage Journey". This is an activity to celebrate the 69th Anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day and the 11th Red Flamboyant Festival.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the festival, Chairwoman of the Hai Phong City Women's Union Vu Thi Kim Lien emphasized: Ao dai is an indispensable part of Vietnam's cultural heritage. Considered the "national costume" of Vietnam, ao dai is not only a traditional costume but also contains the rich history, tradition, culture and spirit of the Vietnamese people. Therefore, ao dai is on the journey to have a worthy position in the list of Vietnamese cultural heritage and further, world heritage.
With their pride and responsibility, Hai Phong women have organized and participated in many activities in that meaningful journey such as: Organizing the Ao Dai Festival, launching the Ao Dai Week on March 8 and October 20 every year, mobilizing women of all walks of life to wear Ao Dai in offices, schools, when going out, going to work, participating in festivals...; spreading Ao Dai contests through photos, giving Ao Dai to women in difficult circumstances and remote areas.
