(CLO) On the evening of March 7, at the Le Chan Female General Monument Square, the District Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Le Chan District held a ceremony to receive the National Treasure "Nghe Temple Gold Item Set" - Opening the Le Chan Female General Traditional Festival 2025.
Attending the event were comrades: Hoang Dao Cuong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Nguyen Van Tung, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee; Do Manh Hien, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee; members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee; Vice Chairmen of the City People's Council and People's Committee; leaders of the Department of Cultural Heritage - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Departments, branches and sectors of the city; districts, many neighboring localities and a large number of people of the city and tourists.

The traditional festival of General Le Chan is an event organized annually by Le Chan district to promote the cultural beauty and traditional rituals about the life, career and great contributions of General Le Chan - the person who reclaimed land, established villages and built the ancient An Bien village, Hai Phong city today. Thereby, arousing the pride in propagating and educating the history, culture and tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source" of the nation.
At the Ceremony, the Prime Minister's Decision to recognize the "Nghe Temple's set of gold artifacts" as a National Treasure was announced. This is a worthy recognition for the National Treasure, and also a great responsibility of the People of Hai Phong City in preserving and promoting the value of this heritage for future generations.

Before the Opening Ceremony, the Procession was carried out according to traditional rituals. Two processions with the participation of about 1,500 people followed the traditional rituals with the Bat Am Troupe, Sanh Tien Troupe, Bat Bieu Troupe, Chap Kich, Kieu Hoa, Long Che, Kieu Hammock, Doan Te Nu Quan... The procession started from Nghe Temple and An Bien Communal House, passing through the streets to the area in front of the Statue of Female General Le Chan. Next, the Central and City leaders, Departments, branches, sectors, and localities conducted the Flower Offering and Incense Offering Ceremony before the Statue of Female General Le Chan.
Delegates and people enjoyed the art program "Female General Le Chan - Thanh Hoang of Hai Phong City" consisting of 2 chapters: Female General Le Chan - Thanh Hoang of Hai Phong City; Hai Phong city and Le Chan district confidently enter a new era.
The land of Hai Phong is associated with a typical national heroine of our country in the early AD period: Female General Le Chan, who opened the land of An Bien and laid the foundation for today's Hai Phong city. Her great contributions are recorded in history, and her descendants have been grateful and admired for many generations. The set of 22 artifacts of Nghe Temple including jewelry that people offered to the forbidden palace of Nghe Temple in the early 20th century, now recognized as a National Treasure, is a clear proof of that.

Le Chan District is proud to be the ancient land of An Bien, proud to be named after the female general of the city, where many heritages worshiping General Le Chan are concentrated: National historical and cultural relic of Nghe Temple, national architectural and artistic relic of An Bien communal house, national intangible cultural heritage - Traditional festival of General Le Chan. And today, the "Golden set of Nghe Temple" is recognized as a National Treasure, further multiplying that pride and honor, affirming that Le Chan District is the place to preserve many special cultural heritages and rich cultural, historical and scientific values of Hai Phong city.
Female General Le Chan was a military general under the reign of the Trung Sisters. Together with the heroic leaders of the Trung Sisters' uprising, she participated in the fight against the Han invaders and became a general with many achievements, demonstrating the spirit of independence and self-determination of our nation in the early years of the Christian era. She also had great achievements in the reclamation of An Bien land.
With the great merits of General Le Chan, after nearly 2 thousand years, through many ups and downs of history, the people of Hai Phong built a temple to worship her, honoring her as the Holy Mother, the tutelary deity of the coastal land. The merits of the female general are still imprinted in the minds of the people of Hai Phong, the relics and legends about her are still remembered by the people.
To commemorate her merits, since ancient times, the people of Hai Phong and neighboring areas have organized many festival activities at Nghe Temple, An Bien Communal House... to express their admiration and gratitude to a talented general, a confidant of Hai Ba Trung. Those spiritual values have been crystallized over time into priceless cultural values of the nation in general and of Hai Phong people in particular, continuing to be passed down from generation to generation. The traditional festival of General Le Chan was listed as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2016 and is held annually on the 7th, 8th and 9th of the second lunar month.
