Two additional personnel elected to the Politburo and Secretariat
(Dan Tri) - The Central Committee unanimously elected the additional Chief of the Central Office and Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission Nguyen Duy Ngoc to the Politburo. Mr. Tran Luu Quang was elected to the 13th Secretariat.

(Dan Tri) - The Central Committee unanimously elected the additional Chief of the Central Office and Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission Nguyen Duy Ngoc to the Politburo. Mr. Tran Luu Quang was elected to the 13th Secretariat.
According to the announcement issued by the Central Office, the Party Central Committee held a meeting on the afternoon of January 23 to elect additional members of the Politburo and Secretariat of the 13th tenure. Accordingly, the personnel elected to the Politburo are Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Chief of the Party Central Office and Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee. Mr. Tran Luu Quang, Head of the Central Economic Commission, was elected to the Secretariat. With this additional election, the 13th Politburo has 16 members; the Secretariat has 12 members. New Politburo member Nguyen Duy Ngoc was born in 1964, from Kim Dong district, Hung Yen province. He has a Master's degree in Law. Mr. Ngoc has worked for a long time in the police force, holding the positions of Deputy Director of Hanoi City Police; Deputy Director General of the General Department of Police; Director of the Department of Investigation Police for Crimes of Corruption, Economy, and Smuggling, then Deputy Minister of Public Security. In early 2021, Mr. Ngoc was promoted to Lieutenant General and promoted to Senior Lieutenant General two years later. In June 2024, Mr. Ngoc was transferred to the position of Chief of the Party Central Committee Office and was elected as a member of the 13th Party Central Committee Secretariat. New Party Central Committee Secretary Tran Luu Quang was born in 1967, from Trang Bang town, Tay Ninh province. He has a Master's degree in Public Administration and a Mechanical Engineer. After nearly a term as Vice Chairman of the Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Tran Luu Quang became Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, then transferred to Ho Chi Minh City, holding the position of Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee in early 2019 and held this position for more than two years. More than two years later, he held the position of Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee, before being approved by the 15th National Assembly as Deputy Prime Minister for the 2021-2026 term, in early 2023. After more than a year as Deputy Prime Minister, in August 2024, Mr. Quang was transferred to hold the position of Head of the Central Economic Commission.
