Two talented artists from Switzerland perform for free in Hanoi

(CLO) Two talented artists from Switzerland will bring to the capital's audience vibrant pop melodies and emotional lyrics on a musical journey connecting cultures.


On the occasion of International Francophonie Day 2025, the Swiss Embassy organized the music program “Bridge of Connection” with the participation of talented artists from Switzerland: Sophie de Quay and Simon Jaccard.

The performance is part of the two artists' tour in Hong Kong, Macau (China); Myanmar, Vietnam and Laos.

During their stop in Hanoi, Sophie de Quay and Simon Jaccard will have a workshop with students from the Vietnam National Academy of Music on March 27; perform at the opening ceremony of the Festival of France and the Francophone Community (Balade en France et en Francophonie) on the evening of March 28; and perform a special music program “Connecting Bridges” at Thong Nhat Park (Tran Nhan Tong, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi). Both performances at Thong Nhat Park are free to attend.

Over the years, Sophie de Quay and Simon Jaccard have captivated audiences around the world. Inspired by their travels, their music celebrates diversity and bridges cultures.

Artist Sophie Loretan (Sophie de Quay) was born in 1990 in Switzerland. She has loved writing and music since childhood. At the age of 12, she was introduced to the world of musical theater while studying at the French School in New York (USA). She took on many leading roles on stage and studied singing with Tina Shafer - coach of famous singers Céline Dion and Avril Lavigne.

Returning to Switzerland, Sophie continued her art studies at Les Ateliers du Funambule. She regularly performed on stage, both solo and in groups. She also joined the troupe of the Théâtre des Salons in Geneva. Sophie graduated with a literature degree, studied professional vocal music in France, studied Chinese studies…

While studying, Sophie began recording her first compositions at One Music Studio. In 2016, she and artist Simon Jaccard formed the group Sophie de Quay, combining pop, electro and world music.

With the ability to sing in many languages ​​such as French, English, Mandarin and several others, Sophie de Quay has made her mark on many international stages, such as the US, India, Singapore, Japan, Romania, Spain, France, Poland, Türkiye...

In 2024, Sophie Loretan married Simon Jaccard, continuing her creative journey, bringing her music to audiences around the world.

Simon Jaccard was born in 1989 and started learning piano at the age of 6. At the age of 20, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Lausanne School of Music (HEMU), majoring in Jazz.

With more than 100 performances per year, Simon has performed at many famous stages such as Paléo, Paris (Olympia, Trianon, Zenith, La Cigale), Caribana, Gurten, Stravinski stage at Montreux Jazz Festival...

According to the Organizing Committee, in Hanoi, singer Sophie de Quay and her husband, also co-star Simon Jaccard, will bring vibrant pop melodies and emotional lyrics on a musical journey connecting cultures.
