Two masterpieces "The Blue Stone" and "The Sound of Colors" have a new look

“The Blue Stone” and “The Sound of Colors” are the two most famous works of author Jimmy Liao (Taiwan – China) and represent his artistic style. It is a combination of the East and the West in contemplation of people and life, a subtle blend of Western painting style with Eastern poetry, between realistic and surreal elements creating a charming poetry.

“The Blue Stone” is a picture book imbued with philosophy and poetry about love and hope. It is the story of a blue stone that was driven away from its homeland by fate. But wherever it is, whatever it becomes, it always remembers its homeland, always remembers who it is.

“The Sound of Colors” tells the story of a blind girl who, although she cannot see, does not let her world be dark and silent. Her imagination is full of flowers, and her life is full of colors.

10 years ago, Kim Dong Publishing House first introduced Jimmy Liao's works to Vietnamese readers. From that moment on, his works quickly attracted the attention and affection of readers.

This 2025 upgrade of “The Green Stone” and “The Sound of Colors” is meticulously invested with a new translation and design. This translation of Ao Thuong brings a new, closer and deeper reading experience to Vietnamese readers. Not only is it faithful to the original work and poetic form, the new translation is sharp and sophisticated in conveying emotional nuances and philosophical meanings.

The two works also feature new designs and high-quality printing, honoring Jimmy Liao's paintings while meeting the tastes of today's readers.

Jimmy Liao, born in 1958, is one of the most famous picture book authors in Taiwan (China). His works have been translated into many languages, won many international awards and conquered readers around the world. Jimmy Liao explores the themes of loneliness, love, loss and hope. He believes that art can heal wounds and help people find meaning in life.
