Two Quang Nam students attend the International Mathematical Olympiad in Turkmenistan

On the afternoon of April 19, at the Vietnam Institute of Mathematics ( Hanoi ), the ceremony to send off the Vietnamese student delegation to the 2nd International Mathematical Olympiad took place solemnly, marking the beginning of the journey to conquer knowledge of young talents.

Twin brothers Nguyen Tri Hau and Nguyen Tri Hien - both 11th grade students at Nguyen Binh Khiem High School for the Gifted (Tam Ky City) are two of the six excellent students representing the country to participate in this exam.

Teacher Diep Tinh - Head of the Math Group of Nguyen Binh Khiem High School for the Gifted was the one who directly led the two students to attend the departure ceremony, giving them more motivation before the important journey.

The 2nd International Mathematical Olympiad for high school students will take place in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, from April 21 to 26, 2025. This is a prestigious international academic playground, attracting the participation of excellent students from many countries.

Two Quang Nam students will compete in Group A - a group for students who have graduated from high school for less than a year and have not yet entered university.

The competition is not only an opportunity to discover, nurture and develop young mathematical talents, but also to enhance international exchange, learning and cooperation in the field of mathematicseducation . The Vietnamese student delegation, led by leading scientists, carries great expectations from teachers, families and the entire education sector.

Nguyen Tri Hau and Nguyen Tri Hien are both excellent students, having made their mark many times in provincial and national competitions for excellent students. Their achievements not only affirm their personal abilities but also demonstrate the quality of training in the key areas of Quang Nam education.

With careful preparation and high determination, the students are expected to maximize their abilities and contribute to the overall achievements of the Vietnamese delegation in the international arena.

According to Decision No. 141 dated April 17, 2025 of the Institute of Mathematics, in addition to the two students from Quang Nam, the Vietnamese delegation participating in the 2nd International Mathematics Olympiad also includes: Tran Quang Nhat (Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, Da Nang), Vu Viet Ha (Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted, Hai Duong), Lai Gia Khai (High School for the Gifted, Hanoi National University of Education) and Nguyen Phuc Nguyen (Newton Secondary - High School, Hanoi).
