The high-speed railway through Quang Nam is expected to have passenger and freight stations, conveniently connecting with other modes of transport.
The pre-feasibility study report of the North-South High-Speed Railway Project proposes a route passing through 20 provinces and cities. In particular, in Quang Nam, it is planned to locate passenger and freight stations, conveniently connecting modes of transport and sources of goods.
The North-South high-speed railway through Quang Nam province is expected to have passenger and freight stations (Illustrative image of passenger station created by AI).
Specifically, in Quang Nam province, 2 stations will be arranged. Of which, Tam Ky passenger station is expected to be in Truong Xuan ward, Tam Ky city, on the right side of National Highway 1A and the current railway.
Tam Ky station is located on the west side of the North-South expressway, near the Tam Ky city bypass, so it is convenient to collect and release passengers from the existing North-South railway station, expressway, and national highway through the public transport system.
Chu Lai freight station is expected to be located in Tam Hiep and Tam My Tay communes, Nui Thanh district, near DT.617 road. The planning project of Quang Nam province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, has identified the development of Chu Lai economic zone as a driving force for the province's development.
Therefore, Chu Lai cargo terminal is located to connect the seaport and industrial zones in the economic zone. This terminal will serve to connect with Chu Lai Airport area (which has been planned to form an international cargo transit logistics center), Ky Ha seaport (Quang Nam), Dung Quat seaport (Quang Ngai)...
Connecting from Chu Lai station, there will be a road system connecting provincial roads, branch railways to economic zones, seaports, and airports in the area according to the planning to collect and clear goods.
Also in Quang Nam province, Chu Lai Depot is located in Tam Hiep and Tam My Tay communes, Nui Thanh district to serve cargo ship operations in the Vung Ang - Chu Lai section.
There are also 2 maintenance stations, used to consolidate maintenance equipment (compacters, road choppers, ballast conditioners, etc.) and store supplies and materials.
Station No. 1 is located in Que Phu commune, Que Son district, serving the maintenance and repair of the section in front of Tam Ky station in the Da Nang - Tam Ky section.
Station No. 2 is located near Tam Ky station, in Truong Xuan ward, Tam Ky city; serving the maintenance of the section behind Tam Ky station in the Tam Ky - Quang Ngai section.
