According to Decision No. 2690/QD-UBND of Hai Duong province, the Ninh Giang Inland Water Port project is located in Hong Phuc and Kien Quoc communes, Ninh Giang district, Hai Duong province. The area is about 27.07 hectares. The project has a designed capacity of 3 million tons of cargo/year. The total preliminary investment capital of the project is 1,496 billion VND. The project's operating period is 50 years, from the date the Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee approves the investment policy and approves the investor to implement the project. The Ninh Giang Inland Water Port project is divided into 2 phases. In phase 1, the following construction items will be constructed: Hydraulic works, logistics area outside the dike, technical infrastructure area, and other items. The construction, completion and operation of the project outside the dike area is expected in the first quarter of 2027. For phase 2, construction of construction items such as: Warehouse area, office area, technical infrastructure area, other construction items. It is expected that in the fourth quarter of 2028, the construction will be completed and the entire project will be put into operation in the dike area. Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee requests investors to implement the investment project in accordance with the prescribed content. Comply with the laws on investment, land, environment, tax, dikes, natural disaster prevention and control, waterway traffic, fire prevention and control and related laws during the implementation of the investment project; subject to inspection and supervision by competent State agencies.
On January 10, 2024, the leaders of Hai Duong province handed over a memorandum of understanding on investment in the Ninh Giang Inland Waterway Port and Logistics Center Project to VIMC.
With the strategy of developing and expanding VIMC's logistics network to the provinces and cities in the Northern region in general, especially Hai Duong province in particular, supporting the connection between industrial parks and industrial clusters in the province with the VIMC seaport system in Dinh Vu, Lach Huyen areas..., VIMC has researched and proposed to invest in the Ninh Giang Logistics Center and Inland Waterway Port Project to concretize VIMC's development strategy. When put into operation, the Ninh Giang Logistics Center and Inland Waterway Port will provide multimodal transport services to industrial parks and industrial clusters in Ninh Giang district and neighboring areas; warehousing, storage of goods, loading and unloading, transportation by waterway and road; customs clearance; maintenance, repair of container shells, means of transport... The formation of the logistics center, Ninh Giang inland waterway port will bring many good chain effects to the industries and production sectors of Hai Duong province and the region such as: Meeting the transportation and storage needs of goods for the activities of adjacent industrial parks and industrial clusters, especially for items with large water transport needs such as manufacturing and assembling steel structures, mechanics; Production of construction materials; Processing of garments, footwear and raw materials; Food processing, production of beverages, animal feed;... Strengthening the ability to connect and develop the logistics supply chain from Hai Duong province to Hai Phong and Quang Ninh seaports, thereby connecting goods to/from domestic provinces and international import and export. The project will create more direct jobs for local workers and thousands of indirect jobs in Ninh Giang district, Hai Duong province and neighboring areas. At the same time, it also attracts more high-quality human resources to serve port and logistics services, thereby contributing to improving the knowledge and skills of local workers.
