On September 2, 2024, Ship 746 coordinated with the Truong Sa Island Logistics - Technical Service Center and Navy Squadron 129 to successfully rescue and tow fishing boat BD96095TS, which had a broken engine and lost the ability to maneuver at sea, and brought it to Truong Sa Island Dock for repair and troubleshooting of the main engine.

At 3:30 p.m. on September 2, 2024, the Truong Sa Island Logistics and Technical Service Center received a call from fishing boat BD96095TS with a broken engine and drifting at sea, requesting help. The center notified Ship 746 of Squadron 129, which was on duty to protect sovereignty in the area, to promptly rescue the fishing boat. Ship 746 immediately maneuvered, and at 4:30 p.m., it approached the fishing boat and deployed a rescue line to tow the fishing boat to Truong Sa Island.

Fishing boat BD96095TS, captained by Mr. Le Chinh (from Hoai Huong ward, Hoai Nhon district, Binh Dinh province), departed for fishing on August 12 from Hoai Nhon port, Binh Dinh, with 4 workers on board working as purse seine fishermen. At 3:00 p.m. on September 2, while fishing 7 nautical miles northeast of Truong Sa island, the engine broke down and the boat drifted at sea. The boat contacted the Truong Sa island Logistics and Technical Service Center for assistance.
By 6:00 p.m. on September 2, 2024, Ship 746 had towed the fishing boat to Truong Sa Island Port to ensure safety, especially in the stormy weather and heavy rain at sea. Truong Sa Island Logistics and Technical Service Center sent technical staff to the ship to survey and fix the fishing boat problem so that people could continue to exploit seafood.
During the peak days of celebrating the 79th National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on September 2, the fishing ports and villages in Truong Sa archipelago and the ships on duty in the areas always strictly maintain combat readiness, while promptly supporting and helping fishermen at sea, helping them feel secure to go out to sea.
