On February 12, Ninh Binh Provincial Youth Union awarded certificates of merit to two members of the Tan Thanh Ward Police Youth Union, under the Tan Thanh Ward Youth Union, Hoa Lu City, for their brave actions in rescuing a drowning person.

Previously, Tan Thanh Ward Police received a report that a woman had jumped into Ky Lan Lake (bordering Tan Thanh Ward and Ninh Nhat Commune, Hoa Lu City). The area where the woman jumped into was a deep lake, and the weather was cold so no one dared to come in to rescue her.
Upon receiving the news, Captain Nguyen The Anh, Deputy Chief of Tan Thanh Ward Police and Senior Lieutenant Do Ngoc Hoang Tien, a police officer of the ward, quickly arrived at the scene.
Upon arriving, the two soldiers spotted the woman struggling in the lake from afar. They immediately jumped into the cold water, swam out to rescue her, and brought her safely to shore.
