On the morning of November 12, Mr. Huynh Van Khai, Director of SOS Phu Quoc General Clinic (Kien Giang), said that the clinic's doctors had just provided emergency care to two sisters who were hit by a wasp nest while walking on the road and suffered dozens of stings.
Accordingly, at around 4:30 p.m. on November 11, Ms. HMTh (42 years old) and her younger sister HTTr (28 years old, residing in Ben Tram hamlet, Cua Duong commune, Phu Quoc city) went to wash their hair at a salon near their house. When they were almost at the salon, they were suddenly hit by a wasp nest falling from a tree.
Ms. HTTr is being monitored at SOS Phu Quoc Clinic.
Despite trying to escape, the two sisters were still stung by the bees many times. After escaping the area attacked by bees, the two were quickly taken to the SOS Phu Quoc General Clinic for emergency treatment in a state of severe pain in the head and arms, accompanied by chest pain and difficulty breathing.
Through examination, the doctor determined that Mrs. Th. had been stung by about 20 bees, and Ms. Tr. had been stung by about 10 bees, mainly on the head and hands. The doctors used pain relief, anti-allergy and intravenous fluids. Gradually, the patient stabilized, with less chest pain and difficulty breathing...
At about 7:00 p.m. the same day, when the situation was stable, the doctor allowed the two patients to go home.
