Previously, at around 3:30 p.m. on April 18, Dao Nghia Commune Police received a report from Mr. Le Quang Thanh, born in 1990, residing in Quang Dat village, Dao Nghia commune, about the incident in which two young children, Le Quang Hoang Anh (born in 20170 and Le Quang Hung Vu (born in 2022), Mr. Thanh's biological children, had a drowning accident leading to death in the reservoir area of ​​a household in the same commune.

After receiving the information, Dao Nghia Commune Police coordinated with functional forces and local authorities to promptly deploy forces to the scene to handle the incident.

At the scene, the authorities determined that the two drowned victims were located in an irrigation reservoir of a household in Quang Phuoc village, Dao Nghia commune, about 100m from the victims’ house. The reservoir was made of waterproof HDPE tarpaulin and was surrounded by a B40 mesh fence.

According to the victim's family, the family had 3 children. While the parents went to work in the fields, they asked the older sister to stay home and look after the 2 younger siblings. However, the 2 younger children went out on their own and unfortunately drowned.

Mr. Le Quang Thanh's family is in difficult circumstances. Local authorities and functional forces visited, expressed condolences and provided initial support of 7 million VND to take care of the victims' funeral.
