In the 12th round of matches held yesterday afternoon, June 25th, HAGL FC, led by coach Kiatisak, failed to defeat Ho Chi Minh City FC despite playing at their home stadium in Pleiku. Throughout the 90 minutes, the team from the mountain town did everything they could to secure three points, but they couldn't achieve their goal. In this match, HAGL had numerous scoring opportunities, such as Minh Vương's shot hitting the crossbar, Paollo's shot at the end of the first half being cleared off the line by Brendon (Ho Chi Minh City FC), and Đinh Thanh Bình's unfortunate miss in the second half. Due to poor finishing and a degree of bad luck, HAGL remains in 9th place with 14 points, 2 points behind Nam Định FC.

In the final match of phase 1 against Binh Dinh, HAGL must win at Quy Nhon Stadium to have a chance of finishing in the top 8. This seems like a rather difficult task for coach Kiatisak's team at this time.
While HAGL is struggling, Hanoi FC has returned to the title race. A 2-1 away win against Khanh Hoa gave the capital city team 22 points, just two points behind league leaders Hanoi Police FC (CAHN). Tuan Hai and Duy Manh scored for Hanoi FC, while Dinh Cong Thanh scored the only goal for Khanh Hoa.

Hanoi FC's rise has created a three-way race between them, CAHN, and Thanh Hoa. This promises to be an exciting battle as the teams enter the final round of the first phase on July 2nd to find the best points for themselves before the V-League 2023 enters the second phase.
Viettel FC also secured a 2-1 victory against Binh Duong FC with two goals from Duc Chien, but the military team is at a disadvantage in this year's championship race as they only have 18 points (6 points behind league leaders CAHN).
In the other match, SLNA drew 0-0 with Binh Dinh FC. This draw means SLNA no longer have a chance to compete for a top 8 spot and will have to play in the relegation battle.
