On the afternoon of April 10, HAGL Club and LPBank HAGL Academy announced the recruitment of Chaloongphum Phong from Thailand. This goalkeeper is expected to help HAGL's U-teams increase their competitiveness in national youth tournaments, and further contribute to the first team in professional tournaments.

Chaloongphum Phong was born in 2009, his father is Thai, his mother is Vietnamese. He can communicate well in 3 languages: Vietnamese, English and Thai. Phong has Vietnamese nationality so HAGL can register this goalkeeper as a domestic player when participating in youth tournaments.

While in Thailand, Chaloongphum Phong was trained as a goalkeeper since he was 7 years old and attended famous training centers such as Suphaburi, Bangkok, Nonthaburi United, Paris Saint Germain Academy Thailand. Currently, Phong is 1.87 m tall, weighs 75 kg and is at the age of physical development.

Speaking with Tri Thuc - Znews , a member of HAGL's board of directors said Phong is managed by the Academy, but with great potential for development, this goalkeeper was recently given special permission to practice with the first team.

Before returning home, Chaloongphum Phong achieved some impressive achievements in Thailand, such as winning the Siam Super Cup 2021 and the Tang-jaeron Cup 2021.

In recent years, HAGL has been valuing young players who are products of the academy. The mountain town team is one of the few clubs that uses mostly young players to play in the V.League and is the team with the youngest average age in the Vietnamese professional league.

Several young HAGL players have recently been called up to the Vietnam national team thanks to their outstanding performances in the V.League, including central defender Pham Ly Duc and goalkeeper Tran Trung Kien. HAGL believes that if they train Chaloongphum Phong well, this goalkeeper may have the opportunity to appear in the Vietnam national teams in the future.
