On the morning of April 19, 2025, at Ha Tinh High School for the Gifted, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held the opening ceremony of the 4th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2025. The event is not only an activity in response to the nationwide reading movement but also an opportunity to widely spread the humanistic values of reading culture to all classes of people.

Attending the ceremony were comrade Tran The Dung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, along with leaders of departments, branches, teachers and more than 1,000 students from a number of schools in Ha Tinh city.
Mr. Nguyen Viet Truong, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, launched a response to the reading movement and built a reading culture.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Viet Truong, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism affirmed: “To build a learning society and a strong reading culture, it requires the cooperation of the whole society - from families, schools to agencies and organizations. Let's work together to create a friendly and attractive reading environment, in which everyone has the opportunity to access knowledge fairly and effectively”.

Representing the young generation, Ho Phuong Linh, a student of grade 11 English 1 at Ha Tinh High School for the Gifted, spoke in response, sharing her passion for reading and affirming the role of books in expanding knowledge and forming a positive personality.

Provincial leaders and departments presented flowers to units participating in the book exhibition.
A highlight at the launching ceremony was the book display and exhibition area with 10 vividly designed booths, displaying thousands of books in many fields: history, culture, art, life skills, science, technology... Booths from the Provincial Library, school libraries, and book publishing businesses brought a rich, intimate, and attractive reading culture space.
On this occasion, Ha Tinh Provincial Library presented books worth 45 million VND to three units: Ha Tinh Specialized High School, Tra Linh Secondary School (Phu Loc Commune) and Xuan Loc Commune Library (Can Loc District) to contribute to building and consolidating school bookcases and community libraries.
Along with the exhibition activities are exchange programs, introduction of good books, storytelling based on books and book giveaways, discount programs, book promotions. All are aimed at arousing the passion for reading, contributing to the cultivation of knowledge, multiplying good values in the spiritual life of every Ha Tinh citizen.

Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day is not only an opportunity for book lovers to gather and spread their passion, but also a space for the community to share experiences and effective reading methods, aiming to build a learning, civilized and creative society.
With the message: “Reading culture – Connecting the community”; “Entering the era of national growth with books”; “Reading books – Enriching knowledge, nurturing aspirations, promoting innovation”, the Book Festival in Ha Tinh this year has truly become a meaningful knowledge festival, contributing to deepening the tradition of studiousness and love of culture of the homeland of Hong Mountain – La River.
