Participating in the 3rd political contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation in 2023, Steering Committee 35 of Ha Tinh province was honored to receive the award for excellent collective in organizing and implementing the contest and Ms. Thai Thi Hien - lecturer at Tran Phu Ha Tinh Political School won the C prize.
On the evening of October 22, in Hanoi, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics coordinated with the Central Propaganda Department, the Central Theoretical Council, the Communist Magazine, Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam Television and the Vietnam Journalists Association to organize the announcement and award ceremony of the 3rd political essay contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation in 2023. Attending the ceremony were comrades: Truong Thi Mai - Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organization Committee; Nguyen Xuan Thang - Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council; Nguyen Trong Nghia - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department; Le Quoc Minh - Party Central Committee member, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, along with comrades of the Party Central Committee, leaders of ministries, central departments, branches and leaders of provinces and cities. This year's contest is of great significance, a highlight in the review of 5 years of implementing Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW, dated October 22, 2018 of the 12th Politburo on "strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views in the new situation". |
After more than 9 months of launching, the contest has received close attention and direction from provincial, municipal, and central party committees, along with the important role of Steering Committee 35 and propaganda committees at all levels. Many units and localities have launched the contest extensively, down to the grassroots level, with creative and effective implementation methods. The contest has created a wide spread in the political system across 63 provinces and cities nationwide with 301,365 entries, nearly 3 times higher than the 2022 contest.

Besides the spreading factor, the contest has high professional quality with many works deeply expressing the Party's spirit and fighting spirit, following the motto of closely combining "building" and "fighting", "using beauty to eliminate ugliness", "using positivity to push back negativity".
Many entries clarified the core issues of Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh thought, the Party's platform, guidelines and policies, and the State's policies and laws; defended and disseminated important resolutions of the 13th Central Committee, the book "Some theoretical and practical issues on socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam" and "Resolutely and persistently fighting against corruption and negativity, contributing to building our Party and State increasingly clean and strong" by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
Many works closely follow reality, effectively identifying and combating the distorted and erroneous arguments of hostile and reactionary forces that have emerged recently.
After the preliminary and final rounds, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes according to the types of entries, including: magazine articles, newspapers, radio, television, and video clips. Each category includes: 3 A prizes, 5 B prizes, 7 C prizes, and 10 consolation prizes.

In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded 15 "Excellent Collective" prizes to agencies, organizations and localities that have organized and implemented the contest extensively and creatively at the grassroots level, effectively serving the implementation of Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW of the 12th Politburo at localities, agencies and units.
In particular, the Steering Committee for protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints (Steering Committee 35) of Ha Tinh province was awarded a certificate of merit for excellent collective; author Thai Thi Hien - lecturer at Tran Phu Political School, Ha Tinh was awarded the C prize in the magazine category with the work "Relying on the People to create a solid "wall" in protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints".
In addition to the official prize, the Organizing Committee of the contest awarded "Promising" prizes to the works of authors and groups of authors who are union members, youth, and students who made it to the final round and had the highest scores among the works of union members, youth, and students.
At the ceremony, Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia launched the 4th political essay contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation in 2024.
