The Hanoi Department of Education and Training issued a document on preparations for the 2024-2025 school year, organizing the opening ceremony and implementing a number of activities at the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year.

Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training requires reviewing and checking to ensure adequate facilities and educational equipment before the new school year; arranging and assigning teachers to ensure sufficient quantity and synchronous structure, especially in some subjects such as English, Information Technology, Music, and Fine Arts.

In case it is not possible to recruit teachers according to the quota, the Department requires the implementation of teacher contracts according to regulations, suitable to local reality.

At the same time, the Department requires proper implementation of regulations on financial revenue and expenditure, public disclosure of revenue and expenditure from the beginning of the school year; on the selection, supply, and use of textbooks, local educational materials, and reference materials. "Students must not be prevented from going to school due to difficult circumstances," the document clearly states.

Schools fully implement the content and criteria for building happy schools, safe schools, preventing accidents and injuries in educational institutions; strengthen coordination between families, schools and society to organize care, nurturing, management and education of children and students inside and outside of school.

Schools coordinate with publishers, relevant organizations and individuals to organize the supply of quality textbooks; absolutely do not allow delays or shortages of textbooks and learning materials at the beginning of the school year.

Regarding the organization of some activities at the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year, the document clearly states that schools, classrooms, and school grounds must be cleaned, beautiful, and safe, with slogans to welcome the new school year, and that preparations must be thorough and ready in all aspects for the opening of the new school year.

Educational institutions organizing activities to welcome new students need to pay special attention to first graders; organize for students to learn about the traditions and activities of the school; disseminate the school's rules and regulations; introduce educational activities, educational programs, learning and training methods at school and in class.

According to the 2024-2025 school year schedule issued by the Hanoi People's Committee, the entire city will hold the opening ceremony on September 5. Students of kindergartens, general schools and continuing education schools will return to school at least 1 week before the opening ceremony date. In particular, first graders will return to school at least 2 weeks before the opening ceremony date.

The Hanoi City 2024-2025 school year schedule stipulates that schools will finish the first semester before January 18, 2025; complete the program and end the school year before May 31, 2025; consider recognition of completion of primary school program and consider recognition of secondary school graduation before June 30, 2025. At the same time, complete enrollment for first-level classes before July 31, 2025.
