On April 8, the Hanoi People's Committee issued Official Dispatch 1264/UBND-NNMT requesting departments, branches and localities to focus on implementing measures to manage and protect forests, prevent and fight forest fires, as well as strictly handle violations of forestry land. Notably, Soc Son and Quoc Oai districts were requested to urgently inspect and verify cases of illegal leveling and construction of works taking place on forest land.
The handling must be thorough and in compliance with legal regulations. The results must be reported to the City People's Committee through the Department of Agriculture and Environment before April 21, 2025.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment is assigned to coordinate with districts and towns with forests to synchronously deploy solutions to improve the effectiveness of land and forest resource management. In particular, the Forest Protection Department plays a leading role, actively advising authorities at all levels and promoting the application of high technology in forest monitoring and protection.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment was also asked to direct the Hanoi Wildlife Rescue Center and other relevant agencies to continue to strictly implement the protection of protective forests and special-use forests in Soc Son and My Duc.
Forest protection contracting, increased patrolling and inspection will be seriously implemented to promptly prevent violations such as deforestation, land encroachment, or illegal construction.
The City People's Committee assigned the Hanoi Police to coordinate with relevant units to investigate and strictly handle acts of intentionally destroying forests, burning forests, or illegally leveling and constructing structures on forestry land.
Localities with forest areas are required to disseminate and strictly implement Directive 05/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister dated May 18, 2023 and Directive 08/CT-UBND of the Chairman of the City People's Committee dated June 7, 2023.
