According to information from the Hanoi Department of Tourism on October 25, this award was announced at the 10th World Golf Awards Ceremony held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The awards are the result of a year-long vote among hundreds of experts, media agencies, golf tour operators, golf course owners, hotels and national golf associations around the world.

Nominated cities must pass many strict selection criteria such as golf infrastructure system, ancillary services for golf activities, and accommodation system.

The city with the most votes will be the winner. To win this prestigious award, Hanoi surpassed other candidates with golf tourism products such as Paris, New York, etc.
