The Ministry of Education and Training has just announced the results of the national excellent student exam for the 2024-2025 school year, with three localities leading the country: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Hai Phong.

Thus, if we add up the total number of national excellent students in Hanoi, there are 371, of which, high schools under the Hanoi Department of Education and Training have 200 prizes and 137 prizes belong to candidates from specialized high schools under the Hanoi National University and Hanoi Pedagogical University.
Similarly, Ho Chi Minh City has 235 national excellent students in all subjects, of which 166 are studying at high schools under the management of the Department of Education and Training.
In addition to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the top 10 localities with many excellent national students this school year are: Hai Phong, Bac Giang, Hai Duong, Nghe An, Thai Nguyen, Quang Ninh, Vinh Phuc, Ha Tinh.
The national high school exam for the 2024-2025 school year will be held on December 25 and 26, 2024. There are 6,482 candidates nationwide taking the exam, an increase of 663 students compared to last year.
Candidates took the exam at 68 examination councils with 13 subjects: Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology, Literature, History, Geography, English, Russian, French, Chinese, and Japanese. This year, for the first time, Japanese was included in the exam.
According to the current Regulations on selecting excellent students at the national level, the total number of prizes from Encouragement and above must not exceed 60% of the number of contestants; the total number of First, Second, and Third prizes must not exceed 60% of the total number of prizes; the number of First prizes must not exceed 5% of the total number of prizes.
The marking of the exam was organized by the Ministry of Education and Training in accordance with regulations, ensuring safety, seriousness, accuracy, objectivity and fairness. As a result, the marking council selected 3,803 winners, accounting for 58.68% of the total number of candidates taking the exam.
The results of the examination and ranking of prizes show that the number of students who won prizes this year is spread evenly across almost all localities. Some mountainous and border localities with difficult socio-economic conditions also have students achieving the highest rankings in the examination.
According to the exam regulations, within 15 days from the date of announcement of the results, candidates have the right to request a review of their exam papers. The Department of Quality Management, Ministry of Education and Training, will issue certificates to the winning students, and the remaining students will also be recognized with certificates of having attended the exam.
