Hanoi will increase the number of agricultural cooperatives by at least 50 and cooperative groups by 1,000.
The Hanoi People's Committee has recently announced a plan to implement the project " Vietnam Farmers' Association's participation in developing collective economic activities in agriculture by 2030" in Hanoi.
The plan aims to enhance the role, awareness and responsibility of cadres and farmer members on the Party's policies and the State's laws on innovation, development and improvement of collective economic efficiency; promote information, propaganda, attraction, mobilization, guidance and support for members and farmers to actively participate in collective economic development in agriculture...
Accordingly, the city aims to provide advice and support for the establishment of at least 14 new cooperatives and 290 cooperative groups in the agricultural sector by 2025, and to increase this number by at least 50 cooperatives and 1,000 cooperative groups by 2030.
At the same time, strengthen and improve the quality and efficiency of operations for at least 15 agricultural cooperatives established by the Farmers' Association at all levels through its mobilization, guidance, and support, and increase this number to 100 cooperatives by 2030.

In addition, the goal is to attract an additional 12% of farmer association members to participate in collective economic organizations in agriculture by 2025 and increase this to 15% by 2030. Support will be provided to at least 10% by 2025, and increasing to 25% by 2030, of professional farmer association branches and groups to develop into agricultural cooperatives and cooperative groups.
The city also aims to have at least 50% of agricultural cooperatives established with the support of the Farmers' Association participating in production and business linkages with enterprises and other economic organizations by 2025 and at least 70% by 2030.
Similarly, 50% of agricultural cooperatives will have access to credit by 2025 and 70% by 2030. 100% of Farmers' Association officials at all levels working to support the development of collective economic activities will receive training to improve their knowledge and skills in disseminating information, mobilizing support, advising, and assisting farmers in developing collective economic activities; at least 70% by 2025 and 90% by 2030 of key officials of agricultural cooperatives established with the support of the Farmers' Association will participate in training to improve their management, professional, and technical skills.
To achieve these targets, the City People's Committee assigned the City Farmers' Association to organize training courses on the topic "Farmers' Association's role in disseminating information, mobilizing and guiding farmers to develop collective economic activities in agriculture and rural areas" for the period 2025-2030; and to mobilize social resources to implement the plan, integrating it with other activities, programs, and projects managed by the Association.
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, in coordination with the City Farmers' Association, implements the plan's activities in the field of supporting the development of collective economic activities in agriculture and rural areas under the National Target Program for Building New Rural Areas and other programs and projects related to collective economic activities and cooperatives.
At the same time, the organization will integrate and link training, professional development, and workshops for agricultural cooperatives and their members on business management skills, production management, expertise, and professional skills to ensure efficiency and avoid duplication.
The People's Committees of districts and towns shall proactively allocate resources from the local budget, utilize funds from national target programs, and integrate credit funds and other legitimate sources of capital to organize and implement the plan in their respective areas; assigning specific responsibilities to the Farmers' Association at the same level and relevant local departments.
