Baoquocte.vn. With the slogan "Cinema: creativity - take off", the Hanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF) 2024 will introduce outstanding works of cinema around the world and connect, exchange and cooperate for mutual development, creating opportunities to expand the Vietnamese cinema market.
According to Mr. Vi Kien Thanh, Director of the Department of Cinema, Head of the Organizing Committee of HANIFF 2024, from more than 500 registered films, the preliminary and final selection boards have selected 117 films from 51 countries and territories to screen in film programs.

The colorful films with unique and creative presentation styles promise to create a vibrant, lively and unique HANIFF.
Of these, 10 feature films are from the following countries: Switzerland, Russian Federation, Belgium, Sweden, Germany, Estonia, South Korea, Iran, India, France and Vietnam.
This year, the Film Project Market also received a record number of registered projects, nearly 70 projects from more than 20 countries and territories around the world with very good and diverse quality.
Sharing before the event, Ms. Le Thi Anh Mai, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Hanoi City, said that the capital is ready to welcome delegates attending the event.

The best quality cinemas and outdoor cinema venues in Hanoi have been carefully selected to screen the films participating in the Film Festival, in order to best serve the audience.
In addition, Hanoi will also organize a Gala dinner at the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, with a special art program imbued with Vietnamese cultural and artistic identity sent to delegates attending the Film Festival.
On this occasion, the city also prepared relic sites including Hoa Lo Relic, Hang Dau Street Water Tower and Hanoi Opera House to serve the delegates' tour program.
Expressing his joy that HANIFF 2024 chose German cinema as the focus of its program along with the German Cinema Seminar, Mr. Oliver Brandt, Director of the Goethe Institute in Hanoi, shared: "2025 marks the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Germany diplomatic relations. We are honored to participate in the event, contributing to promoting the image of the country and German culture to the Vietnamese people, while enhancing cultural exchange between the two countries.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong believes that with its abundant creative potential, HANIFF is an important destination for domestic and international filmmakers to exchange, cooperate, promote creative and humanistic cinematic works, and discover and honor new cinematic talents.
This is also an opportunity to promote the development of the Vietnamese film industry, contributing significantly to promoting the image of Vietnam as a safe, friendly, hospitable and integrated country.
100 volunteers supporting HANIFF 2024: This year's HANIFF has about 100 supporting volunteers, including young people from universities such as: Hanoi National University, Diplomatic Academy, Foreign Trade University... This team has surpassed 1,000 applications to enter the interview round, all of whom are able to use foreign languages such as English, French, Chinese, German and are proficient in information technology, and will accompany and support the main activities of the event. |
