On March 17, the Hanoi People's Committee issued Decision No. 1559/QD-UBND approving the addition to the inventory list of relics in the city from December 31, 2015 to January 31, 2025.

Hanoi is the capital of heritage, with a dense system of relics. According to the results of the heritage inventory in the period 2013-2016, the whole city has 5,922 relics of all kinds. However, in reality, the city still has many relics that have not been fully identified. In July 2024, the City People's Committee issued Plan No. 219/KH-UBND dated July 20, 2024 on inventorying historical-cultural relics and scenic spots in the area.

After the inventory and review process, Hanoi City identified 567 more relics, and officially added them to the list of 5,922 relics approved by the City People's Committee in October 2016.

Thus, after the addition, the total number of relics in Hanoi is 6,489. In which, the localities with a large number of relics included in the inventory list are: Chuong My, Ba Vi, My Duc, Ung Hoa, Thuong Tin, Thach That, Thanh Tri, Thanh Oai, Son Tay, Soc Son, Quoc Oai...

The Hanoi People's Committee requested the Department of Culture and Sports to announce a list of newly identified relics in Hanoi; at the same time, hand over data and a list of relics to districts, towns and cities to receive, manage, protect and promote the value of historical, cultural relics and scenic spots.

The Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports annually synthesizes data on changes (increases and decreases); every 5 years, conducts a review and submits to the City People's Committee for approval to adjust and supplement the list of relic inventories.

The City assigns the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to carry out state management of relics in the list of additional inventories , ensuring compliance with the provisions of the Law on Cultural Heritage, current legal regulations of the State and the City on management, protection and promotion of the value of historical and cultural relics and scenic spots in the city.

The identification of 567 additional relics continues to affirm Hanoi's position as the Heritage Capital; at the same time, raising community awareness in protecting the value of relics in the city.
