Hanoi: A class where most students have IELTS certificates from 7.0 and SAT from 1400 or higher

Class 12A2, Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary and High School, Hanoi National University of Education has 48 students. Of which, 30 students achieved SAT scores of 1400 or higher; and 16/30 students achieved SAT scores of 1500 or higher, 4 students achieved near-perfect scores: Vu Quang Minh (1590/1600), Nguyen Huu Thanh Dat (1580/1600), Nguyen Hoang Vu (1580/1600), Do Xuan An (1580/1600).

With IELTS, class 12A2 has 32/42 students achieving 7.0 or higher, 23/42 achieving 7.5 or higher. There are 5 students achieving 8.0 IELTS: Do Xuan An, Nguyen Huu Thanh Dat, Nguyen Gia Huy, Than Minh Son, Hoang Cong Triet.

The class's outstanding achievements include the achievements of four students: Do Xuan An and Nguyen Huu Thanh Dat, both of whom achieved IELTS 8.0 and SAT 1580/1600 points; Vu Quang Minh, who achieved IELTS 7.5 and SAT 1590/1600; and Nguyen Hoang Vu, who achieved IELTS 7.5 and SAT 1580/1600.

Speaking to reporters of the People's Representative Newspaper, Dr. Pham Sy Cuong, Principal of Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary and High School, said that the achievements of class 12A2 are the pride of the whole school. From that result, the school is even happier and more confident in the viewpoint it has chosen: "Do not focus on teaching tricks but on teaching the basics and methods".

"The school focuses on teaching all high school students the academic English program, encouraging them to have MOS (Office Information Technology) certificates. With a foundation of Foreign Languages; Information Technology; Cultural knowledge; Arts to soft skills,... students are not only stable in advanced academic environments, but also affirm their personal position in the working environment," emphasized Dr. Pham Sy Cuong.

The Principal also said that the success of a student, a class or the collective of Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary and High School is achieved thanks to the joint efforts of the Education Council, the companionship of parents "going hand in hand" with the spirit of self-awareness and efforts of the students.

"The role of homeroom teachers needs to be emphasized. Homeroom teachers are not only people who understand, closely follow, and guide the whole group and each individual; but also motivate students to always strive to practice and study to achieve success," Dr. Pham Sy Cuong affirmed.

Ms. Tran Thi Thuy - Homeroom teacher of class 12A2 expressed that to achieve this achievement is a process of effort and struggle of the students. They always have clear goals, high determination, solidarity, and strive together in their studies to progress. Right from entering grade 10, they have set a study roadmap and tried to implement it.

"By the middle of Semester 1 (SK1) of grade 12, most students had become familiar with and participated in the first exam of various certificates. Not being successful, some students accepted to retake the exam many times to achieve their goals. Therefore, most students in the class completed the certificate right from Semester 1. With the elaborate preparation process and efforts, I believe that they will have many opportunities to enter the universities of their choice," Ms. Thuy confided.
