This afternoon, July 30, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training held a conference to commend and reward two students with special achievements in 2024. They are Dang Tuan Anh, a 12th grader specializing in biology at Chu Van An High School, who won the gold medal at the 2024 International Biology Olympiad; Huynh Trieu Dien, a 5A2 class student at Giang Bien Primary School (Long Bien District), who bravely saved a person in distress.

According to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the gold medal of the International Biology Olympiad that Dang Tuan Anh just won has contributed to Hanoi's overall achievements, helping the Vietnamese team rank 3rd out of 81 participating delegations.
Huynh Trieu Dien, a student of class 5A2, Giang Bien Primary School, was commended for his brave act of rescuing a person in distress.
According to the report of the Department of Education and Training of Long Bien District, on the afternoon of July 16, when Dien was swimming in the sea in Duy Hai Commune, Duy Xuyen District, Quang Nam Province, he discovered a child drowning in an area outside the warning buoy (safe area). Without hesitation, Dien bravely swam to the child in distress and brought him safely to shore.
The child who was rescued by Dien in time is Pham Huu Hoang Vinh (9 years old), residing in Tay Son Dong village, Duy Hai commune, Duy Xuyen district (Quang Nam). Vinh's health is now stable. Huynh Trieu Dien's brave act of saving the victim has been confirmed and commended by the local authorities of Duy Hai commune, Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam province.
Also according to the Long Bien Department of Education and Training, Huynh Trieu Dien won a gold medal at the 12th Young Talent Swimming Competition of Ba Dinh District and a gold medal at the Bac Ninh Open Swimming Competition.
Mr. Tran The Cuong, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, commended and rewarded the outstanding and exemplary achievements of the two students mentioned above and expressed his hope that with the tireless efforts of the entire education and training sector, students from Hanoi and Vietnam will continue to affirm their position in the regional and international intellectual arena as well as have beautiful and compassionate actions.
