On October 17, the Hanoi Party Committee held a conference between the Survey Delegation (Group 1, Group 6) of the Central Steering Committee and the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee to summarize a number of theoretical and practical issues regarding the socialist-oriented renovation process over the past 40 years in the city.
Member of the Politburo, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics Nguyen Xuan Thang and Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung chaired the Conference.
Reporting at the Conference, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong said that 40 years of renovation compared to the history of the Hanoi Party Committee is not long but has marked a period full of difficulties and challenges.
The Party building and political system work has always been given importance by the City Party Committee, innovated, improved in quality and efficiency, and achieved important results. The political system from the city to the grassroots level has continuously grown in terms of organization, political capacity and leadership capacity.
Inspection and supervision work has been strengthened, implemented with focus and key points and achieved important results, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new period.
The capital's economy has gradually shifted from a centrally planned, bureaucratic subsidized economy to a socialist-oriented market economy. The mechanisms and policies for developing a market economy are being gradually improved. The capital's position in the international arena has been enhanced.
In the field of cultural development and human development, Hanoi has achieved great, quite comprehensive, profound and outstanding achievements in a number of aspects. Breakthroughs in administrative reform and improvement of the investment environment have seen clear changes over the terms. The implementation of national defense and security tasks has seen many innovations and creativity, closely following the practical situation.
The potential, position and strength of the defense area are constantly being consolidated and enhanced. The city’s foreign affairs have had positive changes. Hanoi has expanded its sister cities with many capitals and major cities of countries around the world…
From the above results, Hanoi draws lessons: The Party Committee, government and people of the Capital always "Persistently apply and creatively develop Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought; persistently pursue the goal of national independence and socialism; persistently pursue the Party's renewal policy; persistently pursue the principles of Party building to firmly build and defend the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland" in accordance with the spirit of the Documents of the 13th National Party Congress.
The innovation process must be proactive, constantly creative, attach importance to innovation in thinking and leadership methods of Party committees at all levels, both comprehensive and focused, accurately and correctly selecting important issues of the city. Innovation must always thoroughly grasp the viewpoint that "people are the root".
