Xuan Manh is a versatile player, able to play well in the positions of full-back, center-back and central midfielder. While at the Song Lam Nghe An youth team, Xuan Manh also played as a winger and striker.

Right after announcing new player Pham Xuan Manh, Hanoi FC also introduced another new player recruited from Song Lam Nghe An, goalkeeper Nguyen Van Hoang. Van Hoang is 1m86 tall and was trained at Hanoi FC. After 3 years playing for Saigon FC, the 28-year-old goalkeeper returned to Song Lam Nghe An in 2020. In 2021, he was called up to the Vietnam national team. At Hanoi FC, Van Hoang will wear the number 5 jersey. The goalkeeper born in 1996 could be a backup option for his senior Tan Truong in the goal of the Hang Day team.

Both Pham Xuan Manh and Nguyen Van Hoang will be able to play for Hanoi FC from the group stage of the 2023-2024 Asian Cup, which starts in mid-September.
