" On the afternoon of October 30, the Hanoi FC Board of Directors officially assigned Mr. Dinh The Nam - Director of the Hanoi Youth Football Training Center to the position of interim coach of the purple team ," Hanoi FC announced.
This is the second time in less than a month that Hanoi FC has changed the position of the team's coach. Previously, on October 7, the team fired coach Bozidar Bandovic after a poor performance in the AFC Champions League. The team lost its first two matches in the group stage against Pohang Steelers and Urawa Reds.
Assistant Le Duc Tuan temporarily leads Hanoi FC while the team searches for a new coach. The team's performance did not improve as the team continued to lose to Wuhan Three Towns (AFC Champions League) and Hai Phong Club (V-League 2023/2024).
In particular, the 3-5 loss to the Hai Phong team on the evening of October 29 caused the Hanoi FC leadership to make adjustments.
Coach Dinh The Nam temporarily leads Hanoi FC.
Coach Dinh The Nam is currently the Director of the Hanoi Youth Football Training Center. He has assumed this role since June 2023.
After receiving the new assignment, Mr. Nam said: " I have been working here since the first days, so it will not be difficult for me to catch up and get used to the work. The quality of the staff are all national players at all levels, my job is to connect you all more smoothly.
In general, difficulties are surrounding us, but the team's tradition of overcoming storms has been shown many times before, this is not the first time. I believe the team will soon find its way back to victory ."
The coach, born in 1965, worked at the Hanoi Youth Football Training Center from 2011 to 2013 as Deputy Director. In 2016, he worked at the PVF Youth Football Training Center.
Mr. Nam has worked at PVF center for 8 years as Head of Advanced Training Team. Coach Dinh The Nam spends a lot of time on youth training and directly works with PVF players from U11 to U21.
In 2022, Mr. Dinh The Nam was assigned to lead the Vietnam U23 team to participate in the Southeast Asian U23 finals in Cambodia. This tournament witnessed unprecedented difficulties for Vietnam U23. Many members of the team contracted COVID-19 and were not eligible to play. However, the team still won the championship after defeating Thailand U23 in the final match.
