Hanoi: regularly and continuously maintain propaganda work on natural disaster prevention and control

Storm No. 3 (Yagi) affected Hanoi in September 2024.

According to assessments, in 2025, the situation of climate change, environment, weather, and natural disasters will continue to have many complex, extreme, and unpredictable developments; incidents of fire, explosion, building collapse, epidemics, etc. are still latent, with the potential to cause many risks and damages.

In order to proactively prevent, respond to, promptly, urgently and effectively overcome incidents and natural disasters that may occur, limit damage, and contribute significantly to the successful implementation of socio-economic tasks in 2025 and the 2021-2025 period, the Hanoi Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission recommends raising awareness and responsibility of Party committees at all levels, authorities, socio- political organizations, agencies, units, cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees, workers, etc. to actively participate in performing the above tasks well.

Regarding propaganda work, the Hanoi Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission recommends focusing on guiding documents, plans, and solutions for flood and storm prevention, inundation, natural disaster mitigation, and search and rescue of the city, localities, agencies, and units, especially propaganda about key points and vulnerable locations on the dikes so that people know.

Along with that, propagandize and disseminate knowledge and skills in the work of preventing, responding to, and overcoming the consequences of incidents and natural disasters; common types of natural disasters; provide guidance to improve knowledge and skills on activities to prevent, respond to, and overcome the consequences of natural disasters for target groups in the community...

The Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of the City Party Committee also proposed to commend and introduce the experiences of localities, units, groups and individuals who have done well in propaganda work; at the same time, criticize units, localities, groups and individuals who have not done well in the tasks of preventing and fighting natural disasters, floods, storms, inundation and search and rescue.
