Maintain and develop many effective chains
Director of Doan Ket Production, Business and Service Cooperative (Ung Hoa district) Cao Thi Thuy said that in the 2024 Spring crop, the cooperative will produce Japonica rice and high-quality rice according to export standards, with an area of 100 hectares in Ung Hoa district.
The cooperative is supported by the district with 100% of the cost of rice seeds and 100% of the cost of spraying pesticides and fertilizers. To maintain an effective rice chain, the cooperative has signed contracts with 2,181 households in 10 cooperatives of 10 villages in neighboring districts and purchased 100% of the rice products for farmers during the harvest season.
To boost product consumption, the cooperative has cooperated with Chau Anh Company Limited to build and manage nearly 20 rice retail stores in Hanoi and distribute to rice agents in the provinces: Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho... On average, each crop, the cooperative consumes about 3,000 tons of paddy and 1,000 tons of Japonica rice for farmers in the district at stable prices.
Thanh Tri district is effectively promoting the production chain associated with the consumption of safe vegetable products in Yen My and Duyen Ha communes. According to the Head of the Economic Department of Thanh Tri district, Nguyen Thi Tuyet Anh, up to now, more than 200 households have signed contracts to link the consumption of safe vegetable products in the chain with An Phat Cooperative, Dai Lan General Trading Service Cooperative, and Davicop Company.
When producing in a chain, companies purchase products stably (about 30% of output) and at a price 10-15% higher than the market price, contributing to increasing farmers' income. In order to maintain the chain linkage model, Thanh Tri district has supported 50% of the cost of purchasing fertilizers and pesticides for production households.
The assessment report of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development shows that in the 2024 Spring crop, there are many effective chain linkage models in the city such as high-quality rice in Ung Hoa district, safe vegetables in Thanh Tri district... In addition, the chili growing model linking product consumption between T9 Agricultural Products Import-Export Company Limited (Dan Phuong district) and the districts of Ung Hoa, Chuong My... also brings high economic value, helping farmers increase their income and feel secure about product output.
To date, Hanoi has built and developed 159 chains, of which 93 chains originate from agricultural products. By participating in the chain linkage models, farmers are guided on production processes, management methods, and community production organization; and the application of new scientific and technical advances in production.
Along with that, the products are guaranteed and not forced to lower prices by traders. For companies, businesses and cooperatives, they can proactively source high-quality raw materials, large output of goods, uniformity in varieties, uniform product quality and meet the increasing demands of the export market.
Farmers, cooperatives and businesses benefit together
Linking production according to the value chain has brought benefits to cooperatives and people, contributing to reducing many intermediary steps, reducing production costs, lowering prices, increasing product value... However, the linkage chains are still loose, mainly in the form of buying and selling, leading to contracts being easily broken.
The agricultural sector and districts and towns are implementing policies to promote the effectiveness of linkage chains such as: supporting farmers and cooperatives to participate in product promotion and advertising programs; stepping up inspection, supervision and certification of agricultural product quality...
To promote the effectiveness of the production chain in general and cultivation in particular, Director of Bao Minh Agricultural Products Processing and Trading Joint Stock Company (Hoang Mai District) Bui Hanh Hieu said that localities need to plan to build production areas with appropriate scale and types of agricultural products, applying safe production methods VietGAP, GlobalGAP. This helps ensure product quality, creating favorable conditions for businesses in signing large consumption contracts, and stable prices. In addition, Hanoi needs to focus on building growing area codes to trace the origin, transparent information about production areas, agricultural products produced in chains, creating trust for consumers with quality.
Regarding the solution, Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Manh Phuong affirmed that in the coming time, Hanoi will continue to expand and develop the chain of links from production to consumption of agricultural products. Localities have been planning to form large-scale agricultural production areas, attracting businesses to invest in production linkages and product consumption.
In addition, localities support the improvement of management capacity, development of production plans, and market connection for cooperatives to act as intermediaries between farmers and businesses; regularly assess and forecast the supply and demand of agricultural products in the market to help chains adjust production and business directions appropriately.
For businesses, cooperatives proactively coordinate with post offices of provinces and cities to bring products to e-commerce platforms PostMart.vn and Voso.vn; establish safe agricultural product stores in some localities, to introduce quality products to consumers nationwide.
