Hanoi suspends entertainment activities during national mourning period

Pursuant to the Special Announcement of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front on the State funeral of comrade Khamtay Siphandone, former Chairman of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, former President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, pursuant to Decree No. 105/2012/ND-CP dated December 17, 2012 of the Government, the Hanoi People's Committee requests agencies and offices in Hanoi to fly flags at half-mast during the two days of the State funeral (April 4, 2025 and April 5, 2025).

The half-mast flag is the National Flag, with a mourning ribbon (1/10 the size of the flag's width, the length of the flag and only hang the flag to 2/3 the height of the flagpole, use a black cloth band to tie the flag so it doesn't fly).

Organizations, individuals, and entertainment establishments must stop or postpone organizing art programs, sports competitions, and entertainment activities in the city during the two days of the National Mourning (April 4, 2025 and April 5, 2025).
