Hanoi: Open Science and Technology Forum to be launched on April 21

Pursuant to Official Dispatch No. 510/ UBND-KGVX of the Hanoi People's Committee and the notice of the Chairman of the People's Committee's direction on organizing the "Open Science and Technology Forum" integrated on the iHanoi application, the Hanoi Department of Science and Technology has coordinated with the City's Public Administration Service Center and Viettel Military Telecommunications Group to complete the "Open Science and Technology Forum."

The Forum will be officially inaugurated and put into operation on the occasion of World Innovation Day, April 21, 2025.

The Forum is a place for people, the community of scientists, businesses and start-up organizations, educational, training and research institutions and other social organizations to participate in proposing and discussing new initiatives on science, technology, innovation and digital transformation.

These initiatives will directly contribute to promoting the development of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation, thereby creating a strong driving force for socio-economic development and improving the quality of life in the capital Hanoi.

The Forum is designed as an “open space” - where individuals and organizations can proactively propose ideas and initiatives related to the fields of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation.

These proposals may originate from practical problems arising in life, from the need to apply new technology to production, services, urban management or from the desire to improve the quality of life for the community.

This is not only a place to share ideas, but also an environment to promote interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary cooperation, thereby creating effective, creative and practical solutions for the sustainable development of the Capital.

One of the outstanding features of the Forum is the two-way interaction mechanism between citizens and management agencies. Specifically, participants can post initiatives with descriptions, preliminary theoretical basis or practical application.

After being received and preliminarily assessed by the competent authority, suitable initiatives will be approved and officially posted on the forum.

Here, the community can follow, interact, show interest through "liking", "commenting" and contribute additional opinions, evidence and related experiences.

It is this exchange process that helps the initial initiative not only to be more complete, but also to have the ability to access incubation resources, connect and implement in practice.

The forum is not simply an idea gathering tool but a true ecosystem that promotes open innovation. It creates new momentum for innovation, placing people at the center of the development and application of science and technology.

Here, state management agencies and socio-political organizations not only play the role of approving people's initiatives for posting, but also act as a force to accompany, monitor, exchange and discuss with people, and at the same time, the units are responsible for synthesizing, analyzing and advising the Hanoi People's Committee in selecting, incubating, implementing and realizing typical initiatives. Contributing to the formation of an open, vibrant environment, arousing and strongly spreading the spirit of "self-reliance and self-improvement" of the nation in the new era.

People can participate in the “Open Science and Technology Forum” integrated on the iHanoi application. If there is an “iHanoi” application, people can install it from the CH Play application store (for Android operating system) or the App Store application store (for iOS operating system)./.
