Hanoi: Announcing detailed enrollment plans for first grade classes in each district, town and city

The People's Committees of districts, towns and cities in Hanoi have announced the enrollment plan for the 2025-2026 school year, which specifies the enrollment methods, quotas, enrollment routes and registration time for each kindergarten, primary and secondary school in the area. This information helps parents easily grasp, proactively prepare documents as well as arrange time to register for enrollment on time.

Parents with children of any age, living in any district, county or town can fully grasp this information.

In the 2025-2026 school year, Hanoi will apply the admission method according to the admission route prescribed by the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to enroll students in public schools at preschool, grade 1 and grade 6 levels. The city will continue to implement two forms of admission, including:

Online Admission: Registration period from 1.7 to 9.7, according to schedule:
Admission to grade 1: 1.7 - 3.7
Enrolling 5 year old children in preschool: 4.7 - 6.7
Admission to grade 6: 7.7 - 9.7

Direct enrollment: Parents who have not registered online can come to the school to register directly from July 12 to July 18.

In case of not registering for online admission during the above period, parents can come to the school to register for admission directly from July 12 to July 18.

It is expected that in the 2025-2026 school year, preschools will enroll about 95,000 new children and 52,000 kindergarteners. Primary schools will enroll about 155,000 first graders. Secondary schools will enroll about 161,000 sixth graders.

According to the direction of the Hanoi People's Committee, the principles of admission to kindergarten, grade 1, and grade 6 in the 2025-2026 school year must be organized safely, objectively, fairly, and seriously, ensuring the goal of comprehensive education in the basic education stage and implementing the task of universalizing lower secondary education.
