Hanoi "finalizes" the location to build Thuong Cat bridge

The Hanoi City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board has just approved the plan, location of Thuong Cat Bridge and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge.

On December 25, the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board - the investor - announced the Decision approving the plan, location of Thuong Cat bridge and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge.

The starting point of the project is at the intersection with Ky Vu Street, Thuong Cat Ward, Bac Tu Liem District.

The end point is at the intersection with Highway 23B, in Dai Mach Commune, Dong Anh District.

The Thuong Cat Bridge project has a total length of bridge and roads at both ends of the bridge of 5.226km.

Of which, the main bridge is 780m long; the northern approach bridge from Tu Liem and Dong Anh is 3.125km long; the road at both ends of the bridge is 1.321km long. The total estimated investment is over 7,300 billion VND.

Thuong Cat Bridge is designed with 8 lanes (6 motor lanes and 2 non-motorized lanes), the main bridge is 35m wide, the approach bridge is 31m wide; the southern approach road has a typical cross-section of 60m (6 motor lanes, 2 non-motorized lanes on the main route and 2 parallel roads). The northern approach road has a typical cross-section of 50m (4 motor lanes, 2 parallel roads).

The representative of the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board affirmed that the route of Thuong Cat Bridge was determined on the basis of conformity with the Capital's General Construction Plan, the Capital's Transport Plan and the zoning plans approved by competent authorities.

The People's Committee of Thuong Cat Ward (Bac Tu Liem District, Hanoi) said that within the scope of the project, the entire ward has 15 hectares of land that must be recovered and cleared. Of which, there is 1 hectare of residential land of 82 households, 15 hectares of agricultural land and public land.
