On the morning of November 25, Ms. Hua Thi Xuan Lien, Chairman of Quang Trung Ward People's Committee, reported to Dong Da District (Hanoi) about the discovery of some ceramic urns during construction at Lane 167 Tay Son.

According to reports, the area of lane 167 Tay Son often floods. After each rain, the water is deep above the knees of passersby, overflowing into houses, damaging furniture, greatly affecting people's lives.

This area has 3 blocks of apartment buildings, many small houses, many agency headquarters and the Union University dormitory. It is a very densely populated area, so it can be said that flood control is very urgent. People have also repeatedly petitioned the authorities at all levels.

In 2024, Quang Trung Ward People's Committee was assigned to be the investor to implement the project to renovate the entire ward's infrastructure, including the project of adding a drainage system and renovating the road surface in Lane 167 Tay Son to solve the urgent and pressing flooding situation here.

The leader of Quang Trung Ward People's Committee said that during the construction of the drainage system, workers discovered 408 ceramic urns.

Up to now, the Hanoi City Funeral Committee has supported the movement of 138 sets of ceramic urns and burials at Yen Ky cemetery (Ba Vi district).

Quang Trung Ward plans to complete the relocation of the remaining ceramic urns from December 1-3.

The leader of Quang Trung Ward People's Committee also said that the construction has completed the road digging phase. After bringing the sub-grades to the surface, the construction unit will continue to build the culvert and restore the road surface.

According to the Chairman of Quang Trung Ward People's Committee, because it was known that this area had encountered more or less small skeletons when constructing any project, the discovery of the above-mentioned sets of ceramic skeletons did not cause panic among the people.

Due to the large number of remains, the construction unit had to move to the flower garden in front of the Trade Union University (Hanoi) to continue collecting. The authorities temporarily stopped collecting because they ran out of urns.
