The US has imposed restrictions on a number of Russian banks and industrial complexes for 2022-2024.
In addition, many prominent Moscow figures were also blacklisted by Washington.
“In the past three and a half years, we have not been able to come up with any effective sanctions,” Congressman Issa stressed.
One of the few relatively effective restrictions, the politician noted, was not a ban on the use of the SWIFT financial messaging system but a restriction on oil supplies.
“However, Russia has been able to increase oil exports back to their maximum production levels in three years,” it said.
Since launching a special military operation in Ukraine, Russia has been subject to at least 17,500 sanctions, becoming the most sanctioned country in the world.
However, the country has repeatedly claimed that it has overcome the challenges and that the West is suffering the consequences of these sanctions.
