The award is organized by the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army to consider and award literary, artistic and journalistic works on the theme of the armed forces and revolutionary war every five years. From August 2024 to February 20, 2025, the Award Steering Committee received nearly 3,500 works in 8 fields of literature, music, dance, theater, cinema, fine arts, photography and journalism from all over the country for consideration. This is a special topic area, composed in the period 2020-2025, in which many works have been published, released or elaborately staged, performed and premiered, practically entering the spiritual life of soldiers and people nationwide.
The works mostly meet the criteria of the Organizing Committee, from content to form, with many artistic creations with new perspectives. Throughout the works is the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers in building and protecting the Fatherland in the past and present. The works nominated for the award have demonstrated richness not only in terms of art but also in content, national cultural identity, military tradition, expressed by the authors with different levels, with their own personality and mark, reflected in many dimensions, with high academic quality.
The highlight of this Award was the positive response of participating artists and journalists, with a diverse composition from senior artists who have had many creative achievements and young people who have matured in recent years, authors who are soldiers or have been in the military and a large number of groups and individuals working in the fields of performing arts, professional composition, and amateur composition in agencies inside and outside the military.
Through the evaluation and appraisal of works by 8 specialized Councils, the Award Steering Committee selected and awarded 208 outstanding works, including 30 A prizes, 43 B prizes, 59 C prizes, and 76 Encouragement prizes.
Ha Nam was honored to have two works of art by two artists Nguyen Ngan and Do Kich awarded A and B prizes. A prize was awarded to the work “On the training ground” (wood carving) by Nguyen Ngan; B prize was awarded to the work “Road to the campaign” (oil painting) by Do Kich. In the field of fine arts, there were only 2 works awarded A prizes and 4 works awarded B prizes.
