Due to prolonged heavy rain, power grid repair is facing many difficulties, Ha Long City Electricity will prioritize power supply to key areas of the province and city.

Ha Long City currently has over 110,000 customers (the largest in the province). Due to the impact of strong winds and storms, all 38/38 medium voltage lines and transformer stations were damaged, over 250 electric poles were broken, causing widespread power outages.
On September 8 and 9, Ha Long City Electricity mobilized nearly 170 officers and employees (100% of the staff) and the Northern Power Corporation added 43 more technical staff to restore Ha Long's power grid after the storm.

As of 2:00 p.m. on September 9, Ha Long City Power Company has restored power to 15 medium-voltage lines. It is expected that today, the unit will make efforts to restore power to 28/38 medium-voltage lines. Immediately after the medium-voltage lines are restored, the City Power Company will prioritize restoring power to customers in key areas such as: Headquarters of provincial and municipal agencies and units; hospitals, water plants, telecommunications broadcasting stations, coal mines; Bai Chay tourist area, etc.

However, the central wards of Ha Long City have not been able to restore power supply immediately. The main reason is that the 110kV Ha Tu transformer station, which is responsible for supplying power to the coal industry in the city and Hon Gai area, is having a very serious problem, including a 110kV iron pole that has fallen. Quang Ninh Electricity Company is actively coordinating with other units to focus on fixing the problem related to the 110kV Ha Tu transformer station as soon as possible.
