Ha Giang reduces hotel prices by 30% during buckwheat flower season to stimulate tourism

(PLVN) - In order to attract tourists back to Ha Giang, the Ha Giang Tourism Association has issued a document requesting members to commit to reducing product and service prices by 10-30% and providing the best quality service.

From June to September 2024, Ha Giang was one of the localities heavily affected by rain and floods. Some cultural and tourism events in the province had to be stopped, and many tourists canceled their tours.

According to statistics from the tourism industry of Ha Giang province, in August, the whole province welcomed over 242,000 visitors, down 17.4% compared to July.

In September, the number of tourists to the province reached 243,000, down 5.4% over the same period last year.

Revenue of some hotels and restaurants in the province decreased by 80% compared to the same period.

Chairman of Ha Giang Tourism Association Lai Quoc Tinh said: The Association has issued a document requesting members to commit to reducing product and service prices by 10-30% and providing the best quality service to attract tourists to Ha Giang.

Implementation period is from now until the end of peak tourist season in early February 2025.

Ha Giang Tourism Association currently has more than 100 member units. The discount program for tourist groups is one of the solutions to recover, develop, and ensure the goal of tourism growth in the coming time.

According to Ms. Trieu Thi Tinh - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ha Giang, currently the roads are basically open, tourism activities are taking place normally, international visitors to the province are quite numerous, terraced fields viewing spots in the highland villages of Phuong Do commune (Ha Giang city), Phuong Tien (Vi Xuyen district) attract many tourists; flower planting and sightseeing spots on the Dong Van Stone Plateau are being directed and implemented by localities in time to serve the Buckwheat Flower Festival this year.
