Soc Trang province is one of the localities heavily affected by heat and saltwater intrusion in recent years. Therefore, Colonel Pham Quoc Viet directed the police force of the whole province to urgently and seriously implement the direction of the Ministry of Public Security ; the police of districts, towns and cities coordinate with local authorities to grasp the situation of areas facing difficulties in fresh water and clean water sources to plan to support and help people in daily life, farming and raising livestock.

The Deputy Director of Soc Trang Provincial Police assigned mass organizations, especially the Provincial Police Youth Union, to promote the spirit of initiative and volunteerism, gather mobilized water sources, coordinate with functional units and local police to flexibly transport water in many forms to the places to support people.

On the same morning, the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police force of the Provincial Police organized a campaign to transport water to remote rural areas facing difficulties in fresh water and clean water sources in Soc Trang province.
