Corneal transplant without waiting for a donor

Corneas are scarce in Vietnam. Currently, there are over 300,000 blind people in the country who need corneal transplants, many of whom have to wait for decades.

For example, Mr. Vu Anh Minh (66 years old, living in Quang Ninh) lost his vision due to a torn cornea. He went to many hospitals to get a corneal transplant but had to wait for a long time because corneal resources were scarce and the number of patients waiting for corneal transplants increased every year.
