These are the 7th and 8th bridges under the "Building Bridges to School" project jointly implemented by BTTEVN Fund and Grab Vietnam. The project aims to create conditions for children in disadvantaged areas to have the opportunity to go to school more conveniently and safely, helping to improve the living environment, develop the local society and economy, and contribute to the implementation of the national program on new rural development.
Grab has just started building the 7th and 8th bridges in the "building bridges to school" project.
The survey, assessment of the current situation, planning and selection of the construction unit were completed by the BTTEVN Fund, the Lai Chau Provincial Children's Fund, the Nam Nhun District People's Committee and Grab Vietnam in January 2023. The total cost of these two spillway bridge projects is 2.1 billion VND, of which 1.7 billion VND is supported by Grab Vietnam and Grab users, along with 400 million VND in counterpart funds from the locality. Upon completion, the project will help more than 7,000 students, teachers and people of Nam Hang and Nam Ban communes travel safely and conveniently, creating conditions for trade of goods to develop the local economy.
Mr. Alejandro Osorio, Managing Director of Grab Vietnam, shared: "We are very happy that two more bridges in the "Building Bridges to School" project have started construction and are expected to be handed over this year. We understand that contributing to improving infrastructure in areas such as Nam O and Huoi Pet villages is of practical significance to students, teachers and local people in general."
