Comments on the draft Project to arrange and streamline the organizational structure of socio-political organizations and mass organizations under the Vietnam Fatherland Front at provincial and communal levels

On April 22, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee held a conference to contribute ideas to the draft Project on reorganizing and streamlining the apparatus of socio-political organizations and mass organizations assigned by the Party and State to be directly under the provincial and communal levels of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (draft Project). Comrade Nguyen Bat Khanh, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee chaired the conference.

Conference overview

At the conference, the representative of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee informed the delegates about the draft Project. Accordingly, it is expected that the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee after the arrangement will have about 90 - 110 members, who are representatives of organizations, classes, strata of the People, and typical individuals. The Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee will consult and elect a Standing Committee consisting of 5 socio-political organizations. The specialized agency advising and assisting the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front has 8 focal points including the office and 7 specialized departments: Organization - Inspection Department; Democracy, supervision, social criticism Department; Trade Union Work Department; Farmers Work Department; Women Work Department; Youth and children Work Department; Veterans Work Department. The commune-level Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee has from 50 - 70 members, who are representatives of socio-political organizations, mass organizations, etc.

At the conference, delegates agreed with the arrangement of socio-political organizations and mass organizations into the Vietnam Fatherland Front to reduce overlapping functions and tasks, help increase coordination efficiency and optimize resources in the political system, improve professionalism in the activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and related organizations; further promote the bridge between the Party, the State and the People; strengthen the task of socio-economic development and ensure the legitimate rights and interests of the People. Delegates recommended that the draft Project should clarify the functions and tasks of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, and mass organizations assigned by the Party and the State after the arrangement; add regulations on the organization and staffing of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at the provincial and communal levels, each committee, association and mass organization for appropriate arrangement...

Concluding the conference, Comrade Nguyen Bat Khanh, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, received and highly appreciated the enthusiastic and responsible opinions of the delegates on the draft Project; clarified some contents that the delegates were interested in related to the activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and associations according to the Party's regulations and specialized laws. At the same time, assigned the drafting team to synthesize and filter the opinions of the delegates, supplement and complete the draft Project to promptly report to the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee.
