The company stated that it currently has a local team of staff to better serve advertising clients in Vietnam and support the country's digital transformation process.
Reportedly, Google Vietnam's tax identification number was registered in May 2023, with its address in Ho Chi Minh City. Marc Woo, Google's CEO for Vietnam and the Asia-Pacific market, has also moved from Singapore to live in Ho Chi Minh City.
Google considers Vietnam to be a market with a rapidly developing digital economy , ranking among the top in Southeast Asia. Simultaneously, Vietnam also has a significant demand for AI.
Marc Woo assessed that the online media sector in Vietnam has the fastest growth rate in Southeast Asia, and an increasing number of Vietnamese developers are making a global impact with popular applications for users worldwide .
According to a Google report, Vietnam's online media industry is on track to reach $6 billion with a compound annual growth rate of 14% compared to the same period in 2023, and is predicted to reach $11 billion by 2030.
