This list reflects the trends and information that Vietnamese people are most interested in and searched for the most in the past year.
Sports are given special attention
In 2024, many major international sporting events took place, attracting special attention from fans in Vietnam and around the world. Tournaments in a 4-year cycle such as "Euro", "Asian Cup", "Olympics", "Copa" and "Paralympics" dominated the top "Most Popular General Search Trends", demonstrating the great interest of Vietnamese people in sports.
The rankings are based on Google searches, highlighting the top search trends of the year.
The keywords "Climate change progress" and "Typhoon Yagi" were also on the list of common search trends, showing people's interest in environmental disasters and climate change, especially after the recent severe damage caused by natural disasters in the country.
AI tools are increasingly attracting users
“Gemini”, “Viggle”, “Character AI” and “ChatGPT” are the AI tools that stand out in the “AI Tools” topic. The diversity in search demand reflects the growing interest of users in exploring new AI tools, in addition to the already popular names.
Among the top 10 AI tools on the list, users are increasingly interested in AI tools that create videos or 3D video content such as Viggle, PixVerse, Luma.

This is also quite similar to the 2024 Report on Vietnam's digital economy by Google, Bain and Temasek, which clearly shows the increasing trend of downloading AI applications related to image editing or video content creation in Vietnam.
The increased search trend also shows that Vietnamese people are more open to experimenting with new technology solutions and services. AI is playing a transformative role in the development of the creative economy, better supporting users in creative work.
Domestic tourism "reigns"
8 domestic tourist destinations appearing in the topic "Travel" show that users are increasingly interested in domestic tourism, reflecting the growth potential of Vietnam's tourism industry.

Vietnamese people tend to search for information about places with unique natural landscapes, bringing peace and relaxation such as: Vinh Hy Bay, Hoi An ancient town, Con Son community tourism village, Can Tho. For foreign destinations, "Malaysia tourism" and "Europe tourism" are two keywords that made the list with positions in the top 1 and top 6 respectively.
Searches for "concert" increase sharply
The entertainment industry witnessed two prominent search trends: “concerts” both domestic and international, and foreign films.
Emerging as new entertainment phenomena, "Anh trai say hi" and "Anh trai vu ngan cong gai" topped the list of most watched music events in 2024. The growing love from fans shows that the Vietnamese music market is becoming vibrant and full of potential.

Korean dramas still have a lot of influence in Southeast Asia. Not only is “Queen of Tears” in the top 10 most searched dramas in Vietnam, it is also on the list in Singapore, Indonesia and the Philippines.
In addition to the international film titles that appear overwhelmingly in the search list for “Movies” in general, Vietnamese cinema also appears with two films that have created a lot of support and debate: “Mai” and “Quy Cau”.
Vietnamese people seek tools for self-development
“Skills” is one of the new topics this year. The increase in interest and search activity for soft skills such as “Business negotiation skills” and “Management leadership skills” shows that Vietnamese people are increasingly focusing on equipping and improving new skills for themselves.
More interestingly, the appearance of "Life skills for primary school students" in second place on the list shows that society's awareness of the importance of comprehensive education for children is growing.
Vietnamese people also look to tools to learn new skills and develop themselves.
In the topic “How to”, the keywords “How to make chip chip candy”, “How to make flowers with zinc velvet” and “How to make shiny facial skin” are in the first three positions, followed by “How to make citizen identification for children under 14 years old” and “How to make identification for children under 6 years old”.
2024 is the year that Vietnam launched many ID card issuance campaigns, witnessed many reforms and from July 1, 2024, children from 6 to 14 years old can register for ID cards. This caused the number of searches related to this particular topic to increase sharply.
Following the "blind bag" trend that is taking Vietnam by storm, many users are looking for "how to make a blind bag", causing this topic to rise to eighth place in the "How to" list.
