Chu Dau Ceramics - Unique ancient ceramic line brings Vietnamese culture to the world

NDO - When talking about Chu Dau Ceramics, people remember a purely Vietnamese cultural image, because in this ceramic line, everything that makes the product, from raw materials to production methods, has been done by Vietnamese people for more than 600 years.

General Director of Chu Dau Ceramic Joint Stock Company Nguyen Huu Thuc started the conversation with us. Showing us the blue and white flower patterns on the ceramic vase made from the original of the ancient ceramic vase currently on display at the Topaki Saray Museum, Istanbul, Türkiye, Mr. Thuc introduced: Chu Dau ceramic products are made from local white clay - where the sedimentary soil is taken from the intersection of 6 rivers (also known as Luc Dau Giang) in Chi Linh. Chu Dau ceramic glaze is ash glaze taken from rice husks with a yellowish color, without chemicals. This glaze has been recognized by the Vietnam Record Organization as a unique traditional natural glaze of Vietnam, hand-painted by artisans, so each product is unique, because no two times can be painted exactly the same - Mr. Thuc shared.
